Activity Summary
In the Northwest:
Minimal lightning in Southwest Oregon. Light initial attack. Two new large fires. ODF Team 1 and OSFM (Green Team) has been mobilized to the Stouts Creek Fire. Moderate growth on other existing large fires.

Cause: Unknown. 5,200 acres. 0% containment. Extreme fire behavior with crowning, running and long range spotting. Numerous structures, commercial timberlands and natural resources threatened. Evacuations in effect.  OSFM (Green Team) has been mobilized. Conflagration Act has been invoked.
Goode WA-NCP-000031. 24 miles E of Marblemount, WA. Start 7/29. Full Suppression. Timber. Cause: Unknown. 100 acres. 0% containment. No access. Limited information.

Cable Crossing OR-933S-000081. IMT1. ODF Team 3 (Smith). 6 miles E of Glide, OR. Start 7/28. Full Suppression. Timber, slash and brush. Cause: Unknown. 830 acres (+330). 15% containment. Active fire behavior with wind driven runs, isolated torching and short range spotting. Numerous structures threatened. Road and area closures in effect.
North Boulder 2 WA-COF-000867. IMT2. WA Team 2 (Rabe). 3 miles SW of Orient, WA. Start 7/20. Full Suppression. Timber. Cause: Lightning. 210 acres (+10). 35% containment. Steep terrain and heavy fuels. Moderate fire behavior with flanking, backing and torching. Tentaitve transfer to  local unit on 8/2.
Wolverine WA-OWF-000287. IMT3. 3 miles NW of Lucerne, WA. Start 6/29. Monitor. Timber. Cause: Lightning. 1,500 acres. (+700). 0% containment. Active fire behavior with spotting, uphill runs and group torching. Communities and structures threatened. Evacuations in effect. WFMT (Hutton) has been ordered.
Blue Creek WA-SES-000653. IMT3. 10 miles E of Walla Walla, WA. Start 7/20. Full Suppression. Timber, grass. Cause: Unknown. 6,225 acres (+221). 95% containment. Minimal fire behavior with , backing and creeping. Structures lost. Evacuations and road closures in effect. City of Walla Walla Watershed and Blue Wood Ski area threatened.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary:

Hot, dry, and unstable conditions remain today across much of the region and continue east of the Cascades into the weekend. Lightning is possible over SW Oregon later today and tonight, but chances and coverage increase across southern, central, and eastern Oregon through early next week. Lightning could stretch into southern and eastern Washington beginning Sunday and continuing into next week.
