Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
A thermal through west of the Cascades continues to bring very dry air to the west side along with gusty easterly winds. Energy Release Component values are reaching their highest values of the season for areas in southwest Oregon that are under the influence of the east winds. Expect unusually low humidity today over just about the entire geographic area except for the immediate coastal strip. Gusty east winds will begin to decline late Saturday and Sunday but instability will increase as the thermal trough shows signs of moving inland.
