Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:

High pressure continues with warm and dry airmass today. Weak surface based thermal trough still present in central WA/OR and will continue potential for active burning on some fires. Southerly flow aloft will likely increase the thunderstorm activity in south central and SE Oregon today, but lightning not expected to develop in Washington. By Wednesday the current lightning episode should be over, with a general lull in both IA activity and burning conditions expected through the remainder of the week.
