Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential

An upper disturbance crossing Washington and Northern Oregon will increase the westerly winds in Central Oregon and Central Washington today. The winds pose a risk for ongoing and emerging incidents mainly in PSAs NW05 and NW06, including the Columbia River Gorge. No moisture is expected from this system east of the Cascades. Pay attention to your NWS planning forecasts for the details in your area. By Sunday a renewed threat of lightning will arrive from northern California and begin spreading northward in the new week.
