Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:

A relatively quiet day is expected in fire weather over the northwest geographic area today. The region is between weather systems with light general winds and seasonal temperatures. On Sunday moisture and instability from an upper disturbance off northern California will begin to pose a renewed threat of lightning over southwestern Oregon. Thunderstorms will creep northward and eastward into the rest of Oregon and much of Washington on Monday and Tuesday bringing heavy initial attack activity mainly east of the Cascades.
