8/11/2014 AM Carlton Complex



This will be the last daily update specific to the Carlton Complex unless significant activity occurs.  Patrol, mop-up, suppression repair, responding to 911 calls, and bringing equipment off the fire area will continue. Information will still be available on the sites listed below and by calling the Incident Command Post Information Office. Future daily updates will focus on the Little Bridge Creek and Upper Falls Fires.
Yesterday: 
Crews continued to patrol, mop-up, and secure lines. Suppression repair work (water barring, scattering slash, smoothing berms) continued as did back haul of equipment from the fire line to the Incident Command Post. Several small areas of heat showed up and firefighters responded to suppress them. Night crews patrolled, mopped-up, and responded to 911 calls.
Today: 
Firefighters will patrol, mop-up, and secure lines. Suppression repair work and gathering equipment for return to the ICP will continue.  Night crews will patrol,  mop-up, and respond to 911 calls. The Washington National Guard continues to staff road closures.

Evacuations  (including all evacuations in the Methow Valley area)

Level 1:  Pine Forest, Sun Mountain Resort, East Chewuch Road to Boulder Creek, Pearrygin Lake State Park, and along the Twisp River from Elbow Coulee to the Forest boundary. 

No areas are in Level 2 or 3.

Weather:  Red Flag Warning today for stability and plume dominated fire growth; high 99; south-south-west wind 8 mph; gusts to 15 mph
