7/21/2014 Pine Creek Organization

Today we have the Jack Knife fire 100% contained.  There are 966 personnel on our fires. There are 400 firefighters residing at a spike camp at Clarno Creek.

Pine Creek FireAn evening shift of firefighters are working on the fire.  Objectives for the day are: Keep the fire east and north of John Day River, south of Highway 218 and west of Rowe Creek Road.  Current Size:  30,245 acres Containment:  35 %  Resources on Fire:  679 Personnel, 3 helicopters, 2 Type 1 Hot Shot crews, 19 Type 2 crews, 27  engines, 1 bulldozers and 10 water tenders.

Jack Knife FireAdditional fire growth is not expected.  Three barns were destroyed during the initial period of fire spread.  Fire is in patrol status.  Current Size:  13,263 acres   Containment:  100 %   Resources on Fire:  8 Personnel, 2 engines.

Black Rock Fire –  Objectives are to keep fire north of Road 218, keep fire from crossing the John Day River and keep fire from impacting the natural gas pipeline.  Current size:  34,177 acres  Containment:  55% Resources on Fire:  71 Personnel, 2 crews, 8 engines, 1 dozer.

Donnybrook Fire – Objectives are to keep fire within the following boundaries: 1) south of highway 218, 2) east of upper Tubb Springs, the town of Ashwood, Trout Creek Road, and Cat Mountain, 3) west of the John Day River and Bridge Creek Road, and 4) north of Highway 26 and Jefferson/Crook county line.  Current size: 22,756 acres Containment: 0%  Resources on fire: 208 personnel, 8 crews, 9 engines, 6 dozers, 4 water tenders.
