7/22/2014 9:00 am Fire Update for Pine Creek, Jack Knife, Black Rock and Donnybrook

Please find attached the following Fire Update on our fires and well as a photo by firefighter Gabe Clift from the Pine Creek fire.  Also our phones are working at IC for the PIO and is noted in the fact sheet.

What: Wildland Fires   Started: July 14, 2014     Causes:  Lightning
Location: Oregon - Pine Creek fire is 11 miles South of Fossil.  Jack Knife fire is 8 miles SE of Grass Valley.  The Black Rock fire is 10 miles east of Antelope.  The Donnybrook fire is 10 miles south east of Antelope.

A Red Flag warning for abundant lightning is in effect from 11:00 am Tuesday through 5:00 pm Wednesday due to expected mix of wet and dry thunderstorms. If you suspect possible lightning started fires, please call 911. The team continues to work closely with landowners and local firefighting organizations and thanks them for their cooperation.  Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR's) are on the Black Rock, Pine Creek and Donnybrook fires.

Special Concerns: High winds, lightning and Red Flag conditions. Wet dirt roads becoming very slick.  Please use caution when driving, as fire equipment and personnel are using area roads.

Pine Creek FireContinuing mop up operations. 
Current Size:  30,245 acres Containment:  65 %  Resources on Fire:  536 Personnel,
3 helicopters, 2 Type 1 Hot Shot crews, 12 Type 2 crews, 26  engines and 6 water tenders.

Jack Knife FireAdditional fire growth is not expected.  Fire will be monitored by helicopter. Current Size:  13,263 acres   Containment:  100 %   

Donnybrook Fire – Firefighters are monitoring and putting out hotspots mostly in stumps and in slash piles.  Current size: 22,763 acres Containment: 70%  Resources on fire: 323 personnel, 12 Type 2 crews, 16 engines, 6 dozers and 5 water tenders.

Black Rock Fire – Yesterday helicopters worked the steep areas of the fire and crews worked hard improving fire lines.  Current size:  35,731 acres Containment: 85% Resources on Fire: 73 Personnel, 1 helicopter, 2 crews, 6 engines, 1 dozer and 1 water tender.
